Irish Set Dance

Workshop

Day Workshop for $25
Dates: Saturday, June 9th, Noon-4pm

Irish Set Dancing is a lively form or Irish social dance that dates back over 150 years. Dancers are divided into “sets” of 8 to dance and swing their way through figures. Tim McAndrew will be guiding us through everything we need to know for a fun time at a ceili (Irish dance party), from the basic movements used in popular dances through more advanced battering steps. Dancers of all levels, including raw beginners, are welcome to attend. This is a form of partner dancing, but you do not need to bring one with you! We plan pair up individual dancers at the workshop. Students should dress for movement (you’ll sweat!) and bring a pair of smooth soled shoes to dance in if possible. Spots limited, reserve your spot today (click on the workshops tab)!

The workshop payment is not refundable for cancellations made within one week prior to date of the workshop.
